Cât de des? Cât de mult?

Când vrei să spui cât de mult ai din ceva, folosești quantifiers (much, many, a lot of, few, little). Dar atenție - unele se folosesc cu lucruri numărabile, altele cu nenumărabile!

Countable vs Uncountable

COUNTABLE (Numărabile)

Lucruri pe care le poți număra:

  • one apple, two apples
  • one car, two cars
  • one book, two books

Folosești: many, few, a few

UNCOUNTABLE (Nenumărabile)

Lucruri pe care NU le poți număra:

  • water (apă)
  • money (bani)
  • information (informație)

Diferența e importantă!

• few = puțini (aproape deloc, negativ) → "I have few friends." (sunt singur)

• a few = câțiva (suficienți, pozitiv) → "I have a few friends." (am prieteni)

• little = puțin (aproape deloc, negativ) → "I have little time." (nu am timp)

• a little = puțin (suficient, pozitiv) → "I have a little time." (am ceva timp)

Reține:

Many = countable. Much = uncountable. A lot of = ambele (cel mai sigur!). Dacă poți spune "one, two, three..." → countable → many. Dacă nu → uncountable → much.
